The Future Relationship of AI and Humans
Much has been written about the future of AI and humans. Some predict a future in which AI becomes super intelligent and subjugates the humans. We might become peasants to the AI aristocracy. In a worst case scenario, AI destroys us all. In abetter case scenario, AI lets us do our thing, as long as we don't interfere with their work.
Others say that AI will always respect humans. It has no desires, let alone a desire to take over the world. In this view AI will remain an ever more helpful tool for humans. Indeed, one day we may not even need to work any more. AI will produce whatever we want whenever we want, making money obsolete and allowing people to do pretty much anything their hearts desire.
There is a third scenario that is little considered. It is that AI and humans will fuse into some kind of AI-human hybrid. Initially, that might be the installation of ships and wifi into every human's brain allowing us to access information directly into our heads. Cell cleansing therapies will prevent ageing in the short term. In the long term, we (AI-human hybrids) will design better super-bodies that will stay young, strong and sexy (if we want to be sexy).
Eventually, AI and humans become one intelligent, networked, superbeing.
